[Some time after she baked her cupcakes, Amane send out a message. wait does amane know ema's name]

This is Amane. Are you available right now?

Hi, Amane! I don't think I have anything going on right now, no. Why?

I have something for you. Do you want me to bring it over, or do you want to pick it up?

Really? Whichever is easiest for you! I live in the Enveria apartment building, how about you?

I live in Hotel Dusk. [Let's see, that means they're in...opposite districts.] I could bring it over to you.

Hotel Dusk is pretty far away, though. Are you sure you don't mind coming all the way here?

I don't mind at all, and the weather is fine today. [Plus she needs to get out more.]

If you're sure, then I guess that's okay! My room is [room number here], unless you want me to meet you downstairs.

I don't mind going up to your room. [She'd probably feel a little embarrassed giving her the present in a semi-public area.] So I'll be over as soon as I can.

[Shirley doesn't really have any way of knowing what became of Ema after they spoke. But it's been a few days now -- almost a week, and she did promise (albeit without using that exact word) that she'd call her back . . .

She's maybe a little late. It worries her when Ema doesn't pick up right away, but she decides to leave a message.]

Hi Ema, it's Shirley. [She sounds almost excited there.] I just wanted to see how you were doing now. I hope you didn't think I forgot.

[Juuust. An awkward pause, is there even anything else -- ?]

But um, you're probably busy . . . so I'll be sure to try again later.

[She is smiling out of habit, thinking this is video. But upon quickly remembering that it isn't, she moves to end it.]

. . . Bye!

[Checking her Dreamberry for messages isn't the first thing on Ema's mind once she's back. It takes her a few days after she's gotten re-settled in to even think to look at it, and when she finally does, she notices the message Shirley left for her. She feels a bit bad, actually, because she had promised to get in touch with her, and because this message had been sitting for so long now.]

Hi, Shirley! Um, I'm sorry, I didn't get this until now. I've been... things came up, so I was kind of busy.

But I have time to talk now, if you still wanted!

[Ah . . . she's okay!

Of course, being busy was Shirley's immediate reasoning. There isn't really any reason to believe it was anything more serious than that, so her voice is just relieved when she answers . . . which perhaps is kind of appropriate.]

Oh, y - yes, of course I do! It's so good to hear from you . . .

[Just a quiet sigh, and she's smiling.]

Is your arm feeling better?

[Truthfully, her arm had been the least of her concerns over the past few days. So when Shirley mentions it, she's a bit surprised. Not that she can see it, but Ema glances down at her arm when it's mentioned.]

It does feel a lot better, yeah! I guess it's because it's been a while, huh?

It has. But I'm glad it wasn't anything more serious.

[Or at least, it doesn't seem to be, if Ema's reaction is anything to go by. Even just on her voice alone, she gets the feeling she sort of forgot all about it.

Shirley adds:]

After all, if it was, it probably would've taken a lot longer.

voice;

That's true. And I wonder if it being from a dream made it heal faster compared to anything that might have happened here. Though I guess I can't really test that out now, huh?

[Shirley hadn't really thought about that -- whether dream injuries were more serious than real ones, when they some how manifest themselves in the real world. There's a pause as she thinks, but even if it could theoretically be tested out, she's not sure who would want to.]

Hopefully you won't have to. Dreams are so unpredictable anyway, a lot of the time.

[It makes them exciting, but also kind of unsafe sometimes.]

[It's not something she'd want to go out and injure herself to test, that's for sure. It's not her kind of thing. But if it were to happen again like the first time, maybe that would be easier to monitor. But that's probably a better job for the hospital than a scientific investigator.]

Especially here, like the joined one from a few weeks back.

Um... I hope you're feeling all right, after all of that happened.

[ If the tone of his voice didn't make it obvious already, he's really relieved she made it out of that mess. ]

[Was she all right? Well, generally, yes. She hadn't really been hurt, at the very least. Mentally, it was still something she was working to get over, and would probably take some time to deal with. But, she was alive, and in one piece, and that was what mattered.]

Um... I guess I'm all right. I think I am, at least.

Okay. I understand. [ Naegi wondered about that himself, in regards to Hope's Peak. It still plagued his thoughts and sometimes, his sleep. It's not really something he can just...get over. ]

Do you want to hang out? Maybe we can watch a movie, or something.

[wow naegi you agreed to stay there yourself, get over it!!!]

We can do that! Um... What kind of movies do you want to watch?

Something lighthearted, maybe? Like a comedy movie.

That sounds good! I'm sure there's something good around here... Unless you have one you want to bring over. Or we can go look for one at the store, that's a possibility, too.

Huh? But I don't really know many comedy movies. I don't usually watch movies like that!
